Strings of street lamps. Corridors of light. Hiding in tall steeples moving through the night. Peace, through the land and warm in your bed you curl. Can’t feel his gaze, the master of the world. He, sees us all through, the eye’s of a child, in green meadows where the thistles are growing wild. Chase the seasons. Autumn leaves that swirl. He gives no reason, the master of the world. I was dreaming, flags were streaming, through the night sky, high above the clouds they did fly. Strings of street lamps. Corridors of light. Hiding in tall steeples moving through the night. Peace throughout the land, in my bed I curl. I feel his gaze, the master of the world

I see compasses of brass and crystal. Leather boot straps hide my pistol. Waking in a heart of steel. Troubled eyes the dark conceals. Marking time, to the stars that show the way, and I’m marking time, to the part that I must play. There’s no time for wounds to heal. A deadly danger’s strange appeal. Going back.. Going back.. turned around were going back again. Going back again. And I’m marking time. Going back again. Time to go. I feel there’s someone waiting, someone I should know. Turn around we leave the sunsets dying glow. I can feel the sands of time and they’re blowing though, blowing through, blowing through my mind. There’s no time for us. I can hear the words from all around, don’t make a fuss. Steady eyes as towards the danger we do rush. Left there on my own will I, abandon hope, face the rope, will Poseidon come and take me home. Take me home. Take me home

Since I was young, I’ve been running forever can this be the one. Who will hold me together and face a new dawn. But what does it matter we live by the gun, time marches on. Spies of the Silk Trade. Dodging spotlights, glides through midnight, climbs and crawling, slips and falling. Hold me now we test the water finding we can go no further on. And so we start again. Find someplace to begin. But fate won’t let me go, no. Spies of the Silk Trade. Don’t let go, time will show, you should know, not to live with the madness. It’s my swan song when things go wrong its pistol drawn. My pistols drawn. The hands of time, they’re moving forever and very unkind. They won’t wait for another who’ll pardon my crime. It’s a tragic reminder, our lives are contrived we lie to survive, Spies of the Silk Trade. Dodging spotlights, glides through midnight, climbs and crawling, slips and falling find your passage, leave the treasure and your futures gone for ever more.

Rendezvous 05:04
Rendezvous, come as you are. Only to see the morning through your eyes. Circle days on the calendar. Clock-hands like arrows flying, pierce the sky. Tea at noon. I’ll be there. Harvest moon. I’ll be there. A balcony. I’ll be there. By the sea. I’ll be there. Your here with me. Rendezvous, someone comes round. Waking before the sunshine burns the sky. In my mind, rains falling down. Rusting away the clock springs in your eyes. Tea at noon. I’ll be there. Harvest moon. I’ll be there. A balcony. I’ll be there. By the sea. I’ll be there. Your here with me. Tea at noon. I’ll be there. Harvest moon. I’ll be there. A balcony. I’ll be there. By the sea. Your here with me.

Searching everywhere for. Everywhere. McEwin’s Range Finders. Down field you will find them drawing up the lines tighter. Where are. Where are. McEwin’s Range Finders. Looking for a, for a fight beyond our boarder. Search the skies, watching, way up high, tea drops cloud my eyes as I fear for all their lives. Lost somewhere behind the lines, fearing for those brave boys who guard our honor. Where are. Where are. McEwin’s Range Finders. We need, someone who can, hold the line with nerve and valor. Times running faster. Times running faster. Time is about to run out. Search the skies, watching, way up high, tea drops cloud my eyes as I fear for all their lives. Lost somewhere behind the lines. Where are. Where are. Where are. Where are. Where are. Where are. McEwin's Range Finders.

When I’m searching my memory, I know where’s my love. I can see you in the heavens, in the blue sky above. Like a soft woolen blanket that swaddles my mind. But I must go find you never leave you, leave you behind. The shadows that run through my dreams, there faces are always the same. Like strangers I pass on the street, let me know that I can go no further on. Round and Round. Time has come to move, ahead, solider through the moon light, we are shadows on the night sky. Racing the fire that brings on the red dawn. Hold my hands and we shall fly. Fly so high. We’ll fly, so high. We’ll never leave the sky. So high, we’ll fly, so high. We’ll never leave the sky. My love, you’ll see, you’ll never be just a memory to me. (This Song took inspiration from Antonio Vivaldi’s Winter L'Inverno)

Winter 03:20
I try not to cry, since you’ve been gone. I stopped asking why and try to move on, and forget through out the years. And hide your name to guard my tears but I always fail when snows of winter come, they bring you back, back in my heart, again. Flowers bloom in spring and cover the land. Summer’s laughter, runs through the sand. Autumn leaves fall from the trees. A cold, cold wind, sneaks up on me. And so I try to keep it inside. For a while, I manage to hide. But I always fail, when snows of winter come. They bring you back, back in my heart again.

about

Spies of the Silk Trade is the companion CD to the novel "Spies of the Silk Trade" by D R. Clarke. Each song relates to a chapter in the novel and tells of the adventures of Vienna Dubois, a commercial spy for the English Trading Company. Set in a Steampunk alternate universe full of airships and submarines, Vienna must use her wits to stay alive. The music follows the Steampunk theme, fusing classical music and progressive trance and is polished by the amazing voice of Stacey Mendyka.
